Lindani Ndwandwe shot a three-under-par 69 opening round of the Vodacom Origins of Golf at Zimbali Country Club on Thursday but feels he still has a lot of work to do to get his “mind right”. Ndwandwe, a member of the Gary Player Class of 2017-18, is a two-time winner on the Sunshine Tour but has not won anything since the Highveld Classic victory he got in 2009. His other win came in 2001 when he won the Western Cape Classic.
Jack and Arnie. Tiger and Phil. Dustin and Jordan? It’s early, so the rivalry between FedExCup No. 1 Dustin Johnson and No. 2 Jordan Spieth, if one exists, is still just a pencil sketch that could coalesce into a work of art, or not. As the Playoffs roll into TPC Boston for the Dell Technologies Championship, all we know for sure is they’re chummy (they teamed up to go 2-1-0 at the 2015 Presidents Cup in Korea); they play many of the same courses well; and they seem to understand why one might call it a rivalry.
In the final round of THE NORTHERN TRUST, Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth give fans a thrilling duel and a fascinating clash of styles that ends when Johnson blasts a 341-yard drive, hits a wedge inside 4 feet, and birdies the 18th hole in a playoff at Glen Oaks Club. Welcome to the Monday Finish, where the start of the FedExCup Playoffs gave fans in New York and around the world two of the most dynamic players in golf going head-to-head.
